COLLECTION REPORT S.OLIVER MEN SPRING / SUMMER 2015

COLLECTION THEMES
This season, the s.Oliver guys will be travelling around, somewhere different every day, and they‘ll pitch their tent
wherever they want to – or sleep in tree houses, modern yurts or stylish round tents as alternatives to camp-sites. The
casual free lifestyle is transferred into a sporty look with a touch of the technical about it that is a new interpretation
of traditional elements.
PITCH YOUR TENT IN AFRICA
Nature can be enjoyed in full in the vast expanse of Africa. The men throw themselves at adventure, bringing their
urban background with them. Shirts and knitwear are seen in all-over patterns in jacquard, tile prints, wallpaper patterns
or ikat. The patterns are also all easy to combine - and a touch of the ethnic is essential at the beginning of the
season, and brings the handmade character of the collection across. Colours range from indigo blue and yellow to
burnt colours, natural olive and beige. Neon features on zips and in the artworks add accents. The boys really enjoy
being outdoors, and so the fabrics and designs are in sporty interpretations with a touch of the functional. Mesh looks,
waxed surfaces and green casts in denim beautifully sum up the theme. Lightweight down and cool parka styles are
extremely popular for the days when it‘s still cold, and worn with tight denims, casual cargos and chinos.
TO MOVE, RUN & RIDE
The season remains sporty for the men. Get out into nature is also the theme in March and April. The active s.Oliver
man is perfectly fitted out for the spring. His clothing is functional, clean and modern in design. The technical aspect
is seen in three-dimensional prints or bonded fabrics. Mesh is patched with nylon or Neoprene, while pockets and
zips are sealed in the same way as traditional sportswear. The practical idea is expressed in packable garments
that are quickly and easily stowed away so no time is wasted before embarking on the next exciting trip. Jackets
are seen as cool blousons with edge stripes, as college variants or clean. Their functions are smart and include integrated
iPhone pockets or iPad cable routing. In trousers, the popular styles are joggers in a woven look and with
mesh details or cotton. What goes with them: shirts that are going to be important with graphics, calmed washes
and piqué. Polos have offset collars or edge stripes, or are plain. The crew-neck is enjoying a fashionable comeback
on shirts and sweats. Colour is another area where things are a little cleaner. Black, white and navy are broken with
red and silver.
TO SUN DIVE
„To sun dive“ takes them to the beach with colourful styles and cool underwater worlds. A mix of traditional ethnic
patterns and washed-out styles sums up the s.Oliver men summer. The casual look is expressed in hanging shirt
shapes and a combination of bright, fresh colours and burnt earth shades. African and Mexican patterns meet colour
blocking and all-over floral prints in a new tie dye. Then there are small animal and conversational prints. The
casual lifestyle is also transferred to trousers that score points as short cargos and jogging pants with washed-out
details. And when it starts to get cold in the evenings, loose woollen and piqué jumpers are essential. Plush or linen
blazers are just the things for smarter occasions.
