Alison Slovakia open 2016 Bratislava

After matches in group stage started K.O. system.
Surprise was a knock out of the Hungarian representative Andras Csonka (SM8). He lost in the round of last 16 with Komkrit Charitsat from Thailand 1:3. Winner will be rival of Richard Csejtey in the quarterfinals. Csejtey is together with Jan Riapos, Martin Ludrovský (both SM2), and Alena kanova (SF3) one of the four domestic players who will play in the quarterfinals. Most favorits forwarded further as expected. Individual events will finish short afternoon. At 3:00 PM will take place the official ceremony and awarding of  medalists.
Matches in the knockout stage brought many quality clashes. The host country has the first gold medal gained by Jan Riapos (SM2). He triumphed in final over the world number two in their group Fabien Lamirault from France 3:2. Korean battle for gold took place in the group SM1, where Lee Chang Ho defeated higher status Nam Ki Won 3:1. Surprisingly, final match was without world No.1 Robert Davies (United Kingdom) and No. 2 Jean - Francois Ducay (France).
On the countrary, in the female group SF10 as expected third Brazilian Bruna Costa Alexandre beat No.4 Melissa Tapper (Australia) 3:0 and occupied the first place.The same happened in the final of other female group SF2. The world No.1 Seo Su Yeon (Korea) defeated the third best player Nadejda Pushpasheva (Russia) also 3:0.
Medal ceremony concluded an individual competition at the tournament in Bratislava today afternoon. The most successful country have become Korea with eleven medals overall, ahead of Ukraine, which gained eight. Six have been won by France, Turkey and Poland.
Korea has been the most successful in the number of gold medals too - won four, Turkey and Poland three. Overall, medals in individual competition received representatives of 21 countries. Home Slovakia received the entire set of medals - one gold, silver and bronze. The only Czech medal - a bronze - was surprisingly gained by  Frantisek Glazar (SM3), which appeared in the competition after eight-year break. Among the best teams are included Belgium. Although they received only two medals, but both gold.
